Flight ticket to Chicago. Sami met me with the transport equipment. Drive to the middle of America to look at the car. The deals were made where Sami also took care of the bank arrangements. The car was picked up and transported to the hall for containerization. Still had time to get to know the local hospitality etc. Then waiting for the car home. The car arrived exactly as agreed, and there was not the slightest trace of damage on the way.
A perfect ten service and things were taken care of from start to finish! Thanks for that :-)

My first purchase dates back to around 1997 when I bought my first 1968 Triumph motorcycle through Sami. I had the bike for 25 years and it is now with a new owner in France. After that, there was a break in my hobbies for a few years, I had a family and a house, etc. Until in the mid-2000s, when the dollar became cheap, my enthusiasm started to grow again and nothing helped but to contact my trusted friend Sami. First, I bought a 1956 Mercury Monterey and an FLH Shoveli Harrikka. Mercury is still available, several Harleys have come and gone – Japanese, British, etc. Several cars too and most recently a 1960 Ford Thunderbird for my wife’s use. The cars and motorcycles have always been exactly as they were said and even better. The goods were well packed in the container and there has never been any damage during the journey. I have recommended Sami to several of my friends and over the years, a lot of equipment has come into our circle of friends.
I have been especially grateful for the flexibility and quick response from Sami, sometimes I have been in a hurry to go pick up a car or a van when I found the “right” price while browsing the internet in the morning and should be the first to arrive. We have even turned down a purchase when the condition was worse than advertised.

I remember well when we started working on that Wing and I was really thinking about getting it from America. My good friend Sami Karjalainen convinced me to just let it go. We were at my birthday party (50th) when Sami convinced me to contact Minkkinen, and I did. Then they started looking for that Wing and when it was found and when it was time to pay, I called Sami and the conversation went roughly like this: I’m a little hesitant to give someone 5,000 euros that I’ve never even seen, so Sami said that if it helps and comforts you at all, this won’t be my last purchase for you… Then the Wing was delivered to Finland and it was a lot of joy and many nice trips.
Sami was right that buying the Wing wouldn’t be our last purchase. From there came Jytäjammu 1977, then I think there were a few projects Jytäjammu 1972 and Möhkö Kawasaki 1979 which I sold to a friend who had more time to make them into racing bikes. Jammu 1972 was at the MP2017 exhibition in February. The last bike I got through Sami is that red Jammu 1972.

A couple of my local friends from Savo recommended Sami to me in the fall of 2011. I contacted Sami by phone, and the first call confirmed the recommendations – the guy on the phone was professional and calm. This began a collaboration that has continued for years. During this time, I have had classic cars imported from the USA, most recently the SS350 Camaro -67, and motorcycles. I have also recommended Sami to several friends and they have also had cars and motorcycles imported to them.
Sami always examines all cars carefully and we carefully consider the purchase decision together. I think I am a fairly demanding customer and I always do very careful background work myself before we even go to see the car. We have also left the “so-called sure deal” a couple of times without making it, when the cars have been found to have “all the little faults/problems” on site, which in the end were far too many. In these situations, Sami has not pressured me to make a deal in any way, but has been neutral or even strongly directed me “we’ll leave this car here”.
This is a great feature of Sami, even though he only gets his commission from completed deals, there has been no pressure to make deals. Of course, we have always reached agreements on reasonable compensation for the costs that Sami has incurred, even if the deal did not go through. It is this kind of honest attitude that I appreciate.
